The Bruno Mathsson Award 2009 On 25 September Cecilie Manz received the prestigious Swedish design Award, the Bruno Mathsson Award 2009. The argument was as follows:
Cecilie Manz conforms to the Scandinavian tradition with an artistic sense for form and function. She has managed to create archetypal shapes with poetic dimensions. Her design gives Danish design a new quality mark.
Cecilie Manz received the award from Barry Bergdoll, Head for MoMAs department for architecture and design at the Museum of Architecture in Stockholm. Besides the honorable pat on the shoulder, Cecilie also receives a cheque of SEK 200.000 (EUR 22.000).

Bo Bedre Awards - Name of the Year 2009 The prestigious Danish Design Magazine, Bo Bedre, has in cooperation with a design jury of 10 people selected Cecilie Manz as Name of the Year. The jury argument was as follows:
Based on her fantastic understanding of material and her courage to throw herself into the work of very different products - always with success - the jury had no doubt the Cecilie Manz is a good suggestion for a young star, who can lift the Danish Design heritage far beyond the borders of Denmark. Her design is evidently simple and yet wonderfully complex.
