Below please find a list with selected question and answers. They may be helpful, if you have a problem. The questions are divided into the categories: maintenance, light sources, modification and repair and also complaints.
MAINTENANCE
How do I remove dirt and fingerprints from a chromium-plated surface? Wipe the surface with a cloth applied with a thin layer of silicone spray. Please note that the silicone is sprayed at the cloth and never directly at the surface of the lamp. Silicone spray can be purchased in most DIY markets.
LIGHT SOURCES
Why are there shadows at my glass shade? We recommend a soft tone light bulb for most glass shades. If you follow our recommendations about selection of light source you should be able to avoid shadows on the glass shade. In daylight shadows may appear at the shade if placed near the window.
How powerful light bulbs can I use in the lamp? The maximum watt is always stated near the socket. Naturally you can always you a lower watt than stated.
What is the difference between OSRAM MINISTAR SR and an ordinary halogen bulb? The OSRAM MINISTAR SR is a halogen bulb with build-in side reflector. The bulb is recommended because it increases the luminosity of the lamp. The Mondrian series has a build-in reflector, which enable the use of an ordinary halogen bulb as well.
MODIFICATION AND REPAIR
Can I change the wire myself? We recommend that you contact an electrician, if you wish to change the wire of your Lightyears lamp. It is not possible to purchase original Lightyearsf wires, but the electrician will be able to supply wires of corresponding quality.
My glass shade is broken can I purchase a new? Yes, your local Lightyears dealer can provide new glass.
COMPLAINTS
How do I act if I wish to complain about my Lightyears lamp? All complaints are handled directly with the shop, where the lamp is purchases. Remember to bring your receipt.
